Core Functions
What are CSSC Functions?
  • To participate effectively in the formulation of policies and/or present comprehensive policy proposals to the Government, which may assist the Government in the formulation of gross policies in all matters related to the provision, improvement, expansion and maintenance of Education, Health and other social services provided by the churches and its organs for the Tanzania people, and in so doing observe the policies for such services as outlined by the Government.
  • To harmonize or reconcile Churches policy relevant to provision and support of social services in Education and Health sectors and other social services.
  • To facilitate strategies to improve planning, financing, coordinating, organizing, expanding and/or maintain quality social services in Health and Education and other social services.
  • To facilitate monitoring of social sector programmes designed by the Churches.
  • To administer, manage and monitor the use of finances, borrowed, granted, generated or allocated through the Commission for the purposes of strengthening provision, improvement, expansion and maintenance of the facilities providing Education and Health Services and other social services in Tanzania.
  • To strengthen technical services in Education and Health Sectors and other social services through research and consultancy services
  • To provide essential support to Church Institutions providing Health and Education services.
