Consultancy & Development Division (CDD)
The Consultancy & Development Division (CDD) is a Semi-autonomous entity of the Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) established by the Executive Council to cater for the needs of communities, churches and their institutions by providing with them professional assistance in reasonable prices, in order to, on one hand, contribute to the financial sustainability of CSSC, and on the other hand, to continue meeting CSSC’s social obligations by carrying out social development programmes particularly in the Health and Education sectors.
CSSC-CDD has officially started its operation in January, 2006 with its three units of consultants namely Construction Consultancy (Architectural and Quantity Surveying registered units), Legal and Management Services, AND Socio- economic Services.( SEC).
 
The compelling values in the services offered by the CDD are guided by the Transparency with compassion and the love for Christ.
General objectives
Support CSSC in its process of enhancing quality and sustainable delivery of social services to communities particularly on education and health sectors.
Specific Objective:
To generate funds through research, program works and undertaking     of specific consultancy services on the basis of     adequate pricing.

It is in the best interest of CDD to satisfy these groups to the maximum value of their money.
Activities/functions of CDD
1.    Search and identify income generating activities including consultancy projects, programmes and other sources for the purpose of contributing to the financial sustainability of the entire organization ( CSSC)
2.    Liaise with dioceses, churches institutions, communities and other stakeholders in identifying and searching development programmes in line with CSSC policy.
3.    Preparing proposals and identify donors to submit the same
4.    Search and execute social development programmes.
Structure of CDD
CSSC- CDD has in place logical organizational and management structure which adequately provides for improved management information system and coordination.
CDD consultancy units have been addressed by the type of consultancy focused. Each unit has a lead consultant and adequately physical resource and pool of consultants including part-time staff, independent consultants from outside and within CSSC, and specialists in related fields.

On the other hand, each programme has a team of professionals in a field related to the programme activities.
Impact, success, achievements
-    Through the Consultancy & Development Division (CDD) CSSC avails its in-house competence to Churches and their social institutions as well as external consultancy services to Government institutions, private firms, NGOs, international donor agencies and other organizations of civil society.
-    CDD has a very strong team of professionals within and outside the entire division. These ranges from Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Lawyers,     Pharmacists, Economists, Medical Doctors. With this team CDD has been successfully secure and implement a number of programmes and manage consultancy projects within the country.
