Introduction
The CSSC Western Zone office is one of five CSSC Zonal Offices in Tanzania. The Zone serves more than 5 million people in three Regions (Tabora, Kigoma,and Singida) and makes 18% of the total area of Tanzania.
The dioceses in the Western Zone run 6 Hospitals, 11 Health Centres, 45 Dispensaries, 8 Paramedical institutions and 8 Primary Schools, 22 Secondary Schools and 3 seminaries ).
The majority of the population lives from subsistence farming and very little industry has been established yet.. A high poverty level remains under the mainly rural population.
The Western Zone Office is located in Tabora at the TEC-Archdiocese of Tabora
Objectives
The CSSC Western Zone office focuses on further qualifying health and education services managed by church facilitiesto by availing Church Leader with an opportunity to discuss plans and share their experiences on matters related to social service provision (education and health). The approach favours (a) policy advocacy and lobbying, (b) promotion of Private Public Partnerships (PPP), (c) fostering partnerships, and (d) capacity building.
